Drainage Works

We remove excess water from your site: no more puddles, no damage to foundations, and no ruined lawns. We start with a survey — identifying where the water comes from and where it should be diverted.

Signs of a Problem

When is Drainage Needed?

Drainage works are rarely ordered in advance — most clients contact us when water starts causing problems on site. In most cases, these are the typical signs.

Puddle on lawn after rain

Puddles remain for several days after rain

Water on basement floor

Basement and garage are damp, and water collects in spring

Waterlogged lawn with yellow patches

Lawn becomes waterlogged and turns yellow

Sunk garden paving slab

Paths and paving sink and shift

Salt marks and damp at base of wall

Walls around the foundation become damp, salt marks appear

Muddy, rutted soil

Soil stays muddy for weeks, vehicles get stuck

!

If you notice two or more of these signs, water is already damaging your site and will not disappear on its own.

Two Types of Drainage

Where Does the Water Come From?

The type of drainage is chosen based on the source of water, not the budget. In many cases, both types are needed at the same time.

From Above

Surface Water

Rain, snow and irrigation water collect on the surface. It must be removed quickly to prevent soil erosion, waterlogging of paths and lawns.

  • Rainwater channels along the perimeter and paths
  • Drainage grates and channel covers
  • Sand traps at system inlets
  • Sloping the site for water runoff

From Below

Groundwater

Water that sits high in the soil. It is not visible on the surface, but it damages foundations, rots plant roots and causes paths to sink.

  • Drainage pipes laid in a gravel bed
  • Geotextile to prevent blockages
  • Inspection and collection chambers
  • Directing water to a designated discharge point

We Start with a Site Survey

We inspect the area, assess water levels and the terrain, propose a drainage scheme and calculate the cost.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

The most common questions when water accumulates on site.

We refill trenches and restore all surfaces: the lawn is either reseeded or replaced as before, and paving and paths are reinstated to their original condition. During the survey, we show you exactly where digging will take place and what will be affected.
